Implant Treatments
Is implant placement painful? Because implant treatment is performed under local anesthesia, there is no pain during the procedure. There may be some mild swelling or soreness after the procedure, but this is temporary and can be managed with a doctor's advice. How long does implant treatment take? After implant placement, it usually takes 2-4 months for the implant to fuse with the jawbone. A crown is then placed. In some cases, immediate-load implants and temporary teeth can be placed the same day. Can everyone have implants? Any adult with sufficient bone structure and good general health can receive implants. If necessary, bone volume can be increased with bone grafts (bone meal). How durable are implants? With regular care and checkups, implants can last a lifetime. Just like natural teeth, regular brushing, flossing, and checkups with a doctor should be followed.
